FAQ

  • What is the difference between each plan?
Our studio operates on a membership system (no registration fee). Music Room Service has three membership plans to choose from. The Regular Plan is an hourly plan, while the Premium Plan and Elite Plan are flat-rate plans that allow you to use the studio for 30 days with a one-time payment. Both plans are subscription models, where you pay a fee for 30 days, and you can continue from the following month or return to the regular hourly rate plan. You can freely choose and change which plan best suits you depending on your purpose at the time.
  • What is the maximum usage time for the Premium Plan and Elite Plan?
The maximum usage time differs between the Premium Plan and the Elite Plan. The Premium Plan is 1.5 hours per day, and the Elite Plan is 3 hours per day. If you extend beyond the maximum usage time, the regular fee will apply. For Elite members, the rental fee for optional instruments and equipment is free even if the maximum usage time is exceeded.
  • How does the cancellation policy apply for Premium and Elite plans?
The cancellation policy and cancellation fee for both plans are the same as the standard cancellation conditions. For details, please see the terms and conditions page here .
  • How many people can record in the recording booth at the same time?
Our recording booth can accommodate two people at the same time, but in some cases up to three.
  • Do your recording services only include vocal/voice recording?
No, it is also compatible with recording many instruments.
  • Having lots of microphones in your studio is great, but how do you know which one will work best for your voice?
After discussing your requirements and project details, our engineers will select the most suitable microphone.
  • How will the recording be delivered?
We will upload the files to cloud storage or file sharing services such as GigaFile, Dropbox, or Google Drive, and then send you download instructions via email.
  • Can I play the piano in the recording booth during recording?
Of course, you are welcome to use it as an accompaniment for your session. If you would like to record using the piano, please let us know when you make your reservation. There is no additional charge for using the piano during your session or for recording.
  • Are there additional charges if the number of participants increases?
Recordings are done on an hourly basis, and there is no extra charge even if the number of people increases, but please let us know in advance how many people will be attending.
  • When booking a recording, do you need to factor in editing data, bouncing files and mixing and mastering time?
Please let us know the time you would like to actually record and any other requests you may have. Based on the information you provide, we will inform you of the time required, including adding/editing/arranging/organizing files and data/delivery of necessary track data in addition to recording. Generally, we do not mix or master on the day of recording, so please only book the recording time. Long sessions and hours of listening and working on audio can cause the human ear to not function properly and may not be able to make important audio decisions correctly. Therefore, post-production can be treated as a separate stage after recording, leading to better results. We also offer recording plans that include mixing and mastering, and post-production services separately.
  • I'm a beginner and don't really understand the recording process. What should I prepare?
No knowledge of recording or special equipment is required. We will suggest and guide you to the best recording method and plan for you, so please come with confidence.
  • How long does it take to record?
Recording a well-rehearsed band generally takes a full day (8-12 hours), depending on the genre, composition, arrangement, experience, etc. Solo artists can record in less time than a full band. The key is how much rehearsal you can do before recording. Please book about 2 hours for recording one song.
  • Can I change or cancel my reservation after it has been made?
Yes, if you contact us at least 7 days before the reservation date, there will be no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 6 days before and the day before, a 50% cancellation fee will be charged, and if you cancel on the day, a 100% cancellation fee will be charged. If you change the date and time of your reservation between 6 days before and the day of the reservation, it will also be treated as a cancellation. If you are using our recording service for the first time, you will be required to pay the fee in advance.
  • Regarding the plan, if I request revisions at the mixing or mastering stage, will there be an additional charge?
The first revision or adjustment is free of charge. After the second revision, an additional fee will be charged. You can request one or more revisions at the same time. Additional revisions cost ¥2,750 (tax included) each time.
  • What is the Recording & Mixing + Mastering Plan?

  • Besides vocals and voice, what other instruments can be recorded?
Acoustic/electric guitars, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, flute, bass (DI/acoustic), keyboards/synthesizers, digital piano (permanently installed in the recording booth).
